Finished reading: League of Dragons by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

Overall a fun series though I wanted a better ending for the dragons.

Finished reading: Blood of Tyrants by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

Finished reading: System Collapse by Martha Wells πŸ“š

This series makes me happy every single time. Thank you Murderbot.

Finished reading: Crucible of Gold by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

The world building over the course of this series continues to impress. Also, still fun!

Finished reading: Tongues of Serpents by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

The easy reading dragon fun continues. This series is almost meditation for me to set aside the pressures of the day.

Finished reading: Victory of Eagles by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

This continues to a mostly mindless fun series. Want a man and his dragon having adventures? Naomi delivers!

Finished reading: The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells πŸ“š

Reread all The Murderbot Diaries over Thanksgiving break to prep for the new one, System Collapse. It is such a great series!

Finished reading: Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik πŸ“š

The series remains fun if a bit too YA for my tastes. That said, I definitely intend to continue the series.

Finished reading: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova πŸ“š

Super academic historian nerds run afoul of the original fanged one. Kostova is a master of immersion, of being able to transport me fully into the world of the book. I feel like I have memories from the story, as if I lived parts of it.

Finished reading: Saga: Compendium One by Brian K. Vaughan πŸ“š

Epic and masterful. My brain needs time to digest this. And what a cliff hanger of an ending.

Finished reading: The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova πŸ“š

Beautiful, powerful characters and story that engaged my heart and mind.

Currently reading: The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova πŸ“š

I’ve got The Historian on hold at the library and decided to see what else Kostova has written which is how I found The Shadow Land. It is wonderful! Her characters are bringing Bulgaria to life. The plot is good and though I have no idea where it is going it doesn’t even matter. I just enjoy spending time these people.

Finished reading: The Exchange by John Grisham πŸ“š

Bleh. Kept waiting for this book to get smart or have a twist and instead it just ended with no real ethical or intellectual exploration of the issues involved.

Currently reading: Saga: Compendium One by Brian K. Vaughan πŸ“š

Half way through and Saga is totally living up to the hype. It is incredible.

Finished reading: The Farthest Shore by Ursula K. Le Guin πŸ“š

Going to pause the re-read here and pick it up again over the holidays.

Finished reading: The Tombs of Atuan by Ursula K. Le Guin πŸ“š

    Ged’s humility is inspiring.

Finished reading: A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin πŸ“š

Read the whole series two decades ago. Laura I were watching Um, Actually and they had an Earthsea question which inspired me to read them again. I had forgotten just how gifted and unique Ursula K. Le Guin was. The prose in this series is like nothing else.

Finished reading: Dust by Hugh Howey πŸ“š

Strong, fun finish to the Silo trilogy. I’m really curious to see what the Apple TV series does with the story.

Finished reading: Shift by Hugh Howey πŸ“š

The β€œSilo” series continues to be fun. It is also a deeper read than I expected.

Finished reading: Holly by Stephen King πŸ“š

Loved it. Fairy Tale is still my favorite of King’s recent books but Holly is close second.
